Here’s why Vicky Kaushal made a cameo in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ |



Vicky Kaushal’s surprise cameo in Rajkumar Hirani‘s ‘Dunki’ stirred quite a buzz among cinephiles. The actor, known for his versatile roles, shared insights into his decision to take on the brief yet impactful part in the film.
In an interview with The Week Magazine, Kaushal shed light on his motivation to collaborate with Hirani once again after their successful venture, ‘Sanju.’
Expressing his admiration for Hirani‘s directorial prowess, Kaushal revealed that he pursued the cameo role upon hearing about it.Vicky recalled saying yes to the role even without knowing the whole script. It all began when his father Sham Kaushal went to meet Hirani and discuss the fire sequence.

Sham Kaushal who was working with Raju on the project, while discussing the scene where a character puts himself on fire, asked him who is playing the respective role. Hirani mentioned that he would like someone like Vicky to play the part, but the only reason he hasn’t offered the role to the ‘Sam Bahadur’ actor is because he feels it is too small for him.
When Vicky got to know about this conversation, he didn’t waste a minute and called Hirani straight away. He told the filmmaker that even if he had asked Vicky to simply pass by unnoticed in his film, he would have said yes. And that is how Vicky Kaushal got the part of Sukhi in ‘Dunki.’

Talking more about ‘Dunki,’ it is a tale of friendship and cross-border escapades. Starring Sharh Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar, and more actors, the movie made it to the theatres on December 21, 2023, and in February was made available for online streaming.
