Aamir Khan on taking accountability: My mother taught me to never hurt anybody even by mistake |



Bollywood actor Aamir Khan gave a lesson on maintaining integrity and accountability during his appearance at a summit with ex-wife Kiran Rao.
The actor, who has often issued public apologies on various subjects ranging from his films hurting sentiments to disappointing fans with his performances and even to fellow film industry folk for clashing at the box office, spoke about the importance of taking responsibility.Khan shared that it was his upbringing and the values imparted by his doting mother that prompted these immediate reactions.
Reflecting on his mother’s teachings, Aamir shared at the ABP Ideas Of India Summit, “My mother taught me to never hurt anybody even by mistake. So, I try as best as possible.””If some mistake is made even by mistake, then I apologize immediately,” he affirmed, emphasizing the importance of swift and sincere apologies.
Last year, Aamir made headlines when he issued a public apology for the failure of his film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha‘. Prior to that, in 2018, the star in another apology, took accountability for the underperformance of his big-budget film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. In a statement to the media, he said, “I would like to take full responsibility of #TOH not working. We tried our level best. Koshish me hamare koi kasar nahi chhodi hamne. Lekin kahi na kahi ham galat gaye. I want to apologise to the audience, this time I couldn’t entertain them”

Shaking off his past failures, the actor is now reportedly busy working on his next film titled ‘Sitare Zameen Par‘. The film will be on a similar theme to his blockbuster movie ‘Taare Zameen Par‘.
